Anti-Aging Fitness & Lifestyle
Be fit into your 50’s and beyond
slow down the aging process
We weigh the science…and the goals of both health and longevity and create a plan that does a good job of both.
This is included in all of Urban Pump’s personal fitness plans; it’s a major component of our core philosophy!
Too much exercise can speed up the aging process. The volume, intensity, and frequency need to be in proper doses.

How we maximize health and longevity for each client
We weigh the science…and the goals of both health and longevity and create a plan that does a good job of both.
You would think that health, fitness and anti-aging/longevity would go hand in hand, right? This is not necessarily so. Sometimes they go hand in hand, other times not so much.
Let me give you an example. There is something called the M-tor pathway. It has many functions, but one of the main things it does is act as a nutrient sensor to the body, specifically how much protein intake one has. If protein intake is plentiful, the M-tor pathway tells the body to grow, create protein synthesis and so on.
Good for muscle building, right?
Ironically, the longevity researchers are finding out that if the M-tor pathway is always “on” (expressed), it speeds up the aging process of the body…and can cause cancer.
The general recommendation from longevity experts is to keep protein intake low chronically…and yet they also mention the concern about sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass due to aging…a biggie as far as I am concerned), to the point that one longevity expert recommends that the older population should up protein intake a little bit.
This is very confusing. What gives?
Well, that is one of the things we do. We weigh the science…and the goals of both health and longevity and create a plan that does a good job of both. Hint: It’s a good idea to oscillate between expressing and inhibiting the M-tor pathway.
This applies not only to diet, but sun exposure, stress management, and yes, even the exercise program too. Too much exercise can speed up the aging process. The volume, intensity, and frequency need to be in proper doses.
To sum it all up, we take into consideration not only what you can do to be healthy, but also what you can do to slow down the aging process as well as stave off lifestyle and age-related diseases and assist you in navigating these variables.
